Billie Bob Harrell Jr was a religious man. He was struggling to make ends meet while working at a Home Depot store. He had to provide for his wife and three kids. He was told that things would get better. He believed it too. Then, BAM!!! Things got A LOT BETTER!!! Or did they?
You would thing that winning the lottery would solve the types of problems that Billy Bob had, mainly providing for his family. But winning the lottery ultimately cost him his life.
When Billy Bob Harrell Jr won the $31 million jackpot in the Texas Lottery in June of 1997, he was very generous. That was his nature. He gave to family, friends, and his church. He was always there to help if members of his congregation needed it.
But his generosity became a curse. His giving spiraled out of control. It reached the point where it was causing a strain on him financially. So, he took a shotgun and shot himself in the chest.
What was supposed to be a life on Easy Street when he won the lottery ended up being the opposite and cost Billie Bob Harrell Jr his life.
