Mike McGivern's friend bought 20 Montana Millionaire tickets from the same gas station in Butte, Montana that Mike bought just one ticket from. Then he heard on the news that the winning ticket was sold in Butte. Mike thought that his friend, the one that bought twenty tickets, was the winner for sure. Mike was so wrong. His friend didn't win. Mike won!

Mike McGivern bought the winning ticket at Town Pump on Harrison Avenue in Butte, Montana.
Mike is 42 years old and married to Carole. He is a safety manager at Montana Resources Inc. The lottery win wasn't enough to have him quit his job, though. He plans to keep working. And, he doesn't plan anything extravagant with his new-found wealth. He wants to pay off his mortgage and save for his kids' college educations.
