Have you ever bought a scratch ticket, lost, and then had the feeling that you just had to buy one more? Linda Mclaughlin did. She then purchased the winning ticket for the Florida Lottery's $600 Million High Roller scratch game. And, you guessed it... she won!
Linda won the top prize of $1 million in the lotto scratch game. She bought the ticket when she finished her shift at Normandy Crossing Publix Deli in Jacksonville, Florida. The store manager said that she was a 'sweetheart' and that, now, everybody's talking about her. The store received a $20,000 commission for selling the winning ticket.
Mclaughlin didn't talk to the media after the win and lottery officials said that they weren't sure whether she would keep her job.
A little background on the $600 Million High Roller game: $1 million is the top prize in the game. The scratch ticket costs $30 to buy and offers the best odds and highest payouts than any other game by the Florida Lottery.
