It's 2009 and the entire world is in a deep recession. People are being laid off and are losing their jobs. Kevin McQuade from Trumball, Connecticut is just one of those people that have lost their jobs. But Kevin is one of the lucky ones. That's because he won the lottery!
Kevin McQuade won $1 million in Powerball from CT Lottery in the January 21, 2009 draw. But the story doesn't end there. While waiting to get his check at CT Lottery headquarters, his wife, Denise, bought a $1 instant scratch lotto ticket called "Beginner's Luck." She won! $3,000! So, on that day, they both got checks. Lucky couple!
Kevin and Denise were falling on hard times. And, just when it looked like things couldn't get any worse, the lottery wins come. Sometimes good luck follows bad luck, so in these tough economic times, there may be light at the end of the tunnel for some. When Kevin found out the he won, he said that he felt like he was walking on a cloud.
Congratulations to the lucky couple on their double win!
