Martin And Marlene Neva live in Sudbury. That's in northern Ontario, Canada where it's cold and it snows... A LOT. So, they don't need any flashy cars, just something "practical" to get around in that type of climate. And, it's just as well because now they could afford the fanciest of cars. But, they just won't buy any. That's what they said when they came to Toronto's lottery headquarters to pick up their share of a huge $50 million Lotto 6/49 jackpot.
At the time of their win in February of 2009, Martin and Marlene were both 65 years old and have been married for 42 years. They have two children and four grandchildren, with whom they plan to share their winnings with. Their will be know fancy purchases like big mansions because, as they said, they plan on living a practical lifestyle. However, they do plan to renovate their house and cottage, as well as go on a vacation to Australia.
For a month prior to the win, Martin had this feeling that he was going to win something. Boy, did he ever! Congratulations to Martin and Marlene Neva on their big 6/49 win!
