Canada has a once-a-year lottery called "Millionaire Life." It is a unique game for two reasons; first, the grand prize is the only Canadian lottery that pays out a taxable annuity (All other major Canadian lotteries are tax-free and payable in a lump-sum payment). The grand prize is a one million dollars a year for 25 years (The annuity payments are taxable but the winner has the option of taking a lump sum payment of $17 million, tax-free). Second, because it's a raffle style game, all prizes are guaranteed to be won.
The prizes for Millionaire Life are as follows:
• $1 million each year for 25 years
• 4 prizes of $1 million
• 20 prizes of $100,000
• 14 early bird prizes of $100,000
