Felipe Pina decided to play a little practical joke on his girlfriend. He told her that he had a problem. That's when he told her that he hit the lottery jackpot. $63 million from Powerball.
Sure, winning the lottery isn't really a problem. But now Felipe Pina had to find a financial advisor. It might be a problem finding a good one. Poor guy!
Felipe Pina won a $63 million jackpot in Powerball in May of 2007. At the time of the win, he was living in Los Ojos, New Mexica and running an auto repair shop in Chama. He had been living in New Mexico since 1996 and had been playing Powerball ever since he moved there. He said that he always knew he would win the lottery. Actually, many lottery jackpot winners "always knew" they would win. Even the lottery player that have not won yet "know" they will win some day. That's why they keep playing.
When he won, Felipe said that he planned to buy some classic cars to restore.
The winning ticket was purchased at Giant Sundial store. The store received a $50,000 bonus for selling the ticket.
