In May of 2009, Arnulfo Aserios was the first big winner of Guam National Olympic Committee's Sports Bingo lottery. He won $2 million.
The Guam National Olympic Committee's Sports Bingo lottery was created to help pay for the development of Guam's athletes and an estimated 25% of all of its funding comes from the lottery.
At the time of his win, Arnuflo Aserios was a 46-year-old living in Dededo, Guam. He was a poor man living in a crowded house. He is married with four children.
Arnulfo was extremely happy with the win, not for himself, but for his family. He wants to use the money to build a bigger house so that his kids don't have to share bedrooms anymore and is, now, confident that he will be able to provide for the proper education for them. As for his wife, Arnulfo Aserios says she will be receiving a few gifts. Arnulfo says he doesn't even need anything for himself. What a generous man!
