You've probably received lottery tickets as birthday presents in the past. Maybe you've won $5 or $10. But could you imagine getting a lottery ticket as a birthday present and winning $1 million? Max Matthews probably never imagined such a thing, but he won!
Max Matthews received a Monopoly instant scratch lotto ticket from his son, Patrick. When Max scratched the ticket, he called his son and said, "Come home, I won a million dollars." And, Patrick was thinking to himself, "Yeah, right, nobody around here wins a million dollars." But it was true and Max said he will take care of his son's debts.
Max Matthews lives in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Newfoundland, Canada with his wife, Lillian. The first thing that Lillian told Max was that they could now re-do their bathroom. Max was like, "Ya right." He had different plans; he wants a new house - one with an exercise room and sauna in the basement. Nice!
