A $400,000 lottery winner in North America wouldn't even make the news, what with people winning hundred million dollar jackpots in games like Mega Millions and Powerball. But it's big news in other parts of the world.
Take Maxlotto winner, Lakhwinder Singh. In June of 2004, he became the biggest Punjab lottery winner ever. He won 20 million Indian Rupees. That translates to $405,877 USD. That's a nice win, and I'm sure anybody would be happy with that. But in India, it was huge. In 2004, it was considered a rare and historic moment in India's lottery history.
Lakhwinder Singh bought his winning Maxlotto ticket at Ahuja Gift House, in Kotkapura, District Faridkot and Punjab. He never dreamed he could win so much money, but he did believe that he had a chance. When he checked his numbers and found out that he did win, he was ecstatic!
Congratulations to Lakhwinder Singh on his lucky Maxlotto jackpot win!
