Shirley Caldwell Wins Cash Game Lottery And Almost Threw Up

Shirley Caldwell said she almost threw up when she realized how much money she won. That's because she won $100,000 playing Iowa Lottery's Cash Game.

In March of 2009, Shirley Caldwell went to the store to check her lottery ticket. She gave it to the clerk. He checked it and said she won $1000. Then, he realized it was a mistake and said it was really a $10,000. Then, he must have realized that he can't count because she won a lot more. Shirley won $100,000!!! Shirley then drove home and she didn't even wrap her head around the amount of money that she won. It wasn't until she actually got home that she realized that she won so much. That's when, she says, that she almost thre up.

At the time of her win, Shirley Caldwell lived in La Porte City, Iowa. She said she will use the money to pay off bills and buy a car. She said that she needed a car, but that she couldn't afford to buy one. Well, now she can.

The Cash game costs $1 to play and runs 6 days a week. $100,000 is the top prize and players must match 6 out of 35 numbers to hit the jackpot. The odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 1-in-325,000.
