Jeff Wilson's father, Bill Wilson, is a self-described 'lottery freak.' He buys a lot of lottery tickets and always told people that he would win some day. Bill even buys lottery tickets for his kids, including Jeff. He would often buy the tickets, lay them out, and ask his kids to choose which ones they want.
That's what Bill Wilson, of Kings Mountain, NC, did with the June 20, 2009 Powerball drawing. He laid out the tickets and his kids chose. But this time, Jeff actually chose a winner. His ticket won the Powerball jackpot. Jeff wilson was the winner of $88.1 million!
It's funny, because at the press conference to announce Jeff Wilson as the Powerball winner, Bill was there and told reporters that he will keep buying lottery tickets. After all, he is the lottery freak. He even already had his tickets for the next Powerball drawing and he said he hopes to be back when he wins big.
Jeff Wilson wasn't too sure about what he would do with his new wealth. He did have some ideas, though, including a new car, new house, a vacation, donating to charity, and, of course, sharing with his father. He also said that he doesn't mind old acquaintances trying to call him because he knows how to change his phone number and move to a new address.
