Have you ever been so close to something that you really wanted but just missed getting it? It probably feels crappy, doesn't it? Dennis Moore Jr of Bridge City, Texas, USA knows exactly how that feels. In May of 2009, he matched five numbers on the Mega Millions lottery with his Quick Pick ticket. Sure, he won $1 million, but he was just one number away from the big jackpot. He only missed the Mega Ball. Dennis, although happy with the million dollars that he won, said he just hates missing the Mega Ball.
Of course, $1 million is an awesome prize and Dennis Moore Jr was excited to win it; he called everybody he knew after finding out that he won - Starting with his mother, and then his wife, then his sister-in-law.
Dennis Moore Jr had just bought a piece of property prior to his big win and was about to start working hard to pay it off. The win came at a perfect time for him because, now, he could put the money towards the property.
Although he hates missing the Mega Ball, Dennis says that he has not given up actually winning the jackpot one day. I hope he knows that the odds are against him (1-in-175 million odds of winning the Mega Millions lottery jackpot).
