That's Rondal Eaton in the picture with his fiance at the time, Roberta Claunch, holding a ceremonial check for $50.5 million from Powerball lottery. Since the photo was taken, he must have done more camping and fishing than he had his entire life up to that point. Rondal won that jackpot way back on February 1st, 2003.
At the time of his win, Rondall Eaton was 52 years old and working at Sanders Pre-Cast in Whitestown, Indiana, building concrete walls. When he picked up his check at the prize office, he said he was tired of shoveling concrete. We agree, shovelling anything sucks! But we're sure he'll never get tired of camping and fishing because camping and fishing is awesome... and, relaxing too!
Rondal always chose his own numbers whenever he played Powerball even though his friends always told him that he should get random quick pick numbers. But, Rondal saw patterns in the numbers being drawn and, so, always played according to those patterns. He said that he always knew that he would win one day and, even if he didn't, his lottery dollars would have gone to a good cause. Sounds like a decent man!
Congratulations to Rondal Eaton on his lucky win!
