Boise lottery winner, Beverly Owens, wanted to go pick up her $200,000 second prize lottery win, but that would've meant being late for work. She had a tough time convincing her boss in April of 2007 that she won the lottery and needed to go get her money. Her boss might've thought it was an April Fool's joke. But she really did win the lottery. Too bad she didn't win the jackpot; then she could have quit her job working at the mortgage company that she was an assistant manager at.
At the time of her win, Beverly Owens was living in Boise, Idaho with her husband. They were in the process of building their dream house in Kamiah, Idaho, which is about 200 miles north of Boise. The $200,000 win came at a perfect time because building a dream house takes a lot of money!
Beverly Owens said that when she checked the lottery numbers, she couldn't believe what she saw. She had to take off her glasses and double-check them. That's when she realized how much she won and started whooping and hollering!
Congratulations to Beverly Owens on her nice win!
