Calgary Lottery Winner Joe Jalali Played Same Numbers For 10 Years

Joe JalaliA lot of lottery players play the same numbers for every draw. Usually, it's their lucky set of numbers or numbers that represent family birthdays, or such. That's fine, but the problem is that if they ever missed a draw because they were late buying tickets or something and their numbers came up, they'd probably feel pretty crappy. Oh well, they still do it.

Joe Jalali, of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is one such person that plays the same lottery numbers. Lucky for him, he bought a ticket when his numbers came up. Joe Jalali had been playing the same numbers for 10 years and he finally won in 2009. He won $145,436 playing Lotto 6/49. That was the second prize and he won by matching 5-out-of-6 numbers, plus the bonus number.

Joe Jalali bought his winning ticket at Shopper's Drug Mart on 14th Avenue in Calgary. He said that he was numb and overjoyed when he found out hat he won.

I actually used to play the same numbers on Lotto 6/49. I did it for about five years and then I stopped and decided to go with QuickPicks. About six months after the switch, 5-out-of-the-6 numbers came up. I would've won about $1500. Oh well.

Congratulations to Calgary lottery winner Joe Jalali for his lucky win!
