You know you're a lottery addict when... You go on a road trip and you have to stop in every state you visit to buy a ticket.
Dick Sandlin knows all about that. He lives in South Carolina and has a summer house in Florida. On his road trip from Florida to South Carolina with his wife, Colleen, in March of 2007, Dick had to stop in every state to buy a lottery ticket. So he bought a ticket in Florida, Georgia, and finally, South Carolina. He bought a Powerball ticket in South Carolina and, what do you know, he won. $15 million dollars.
Now, I'm not really saying that Dick Sandlin is, in fact, a lottery addict, but buying a ticket in every state on a road trip might just be a sign. But addict or no addict, if you win then who cares?
I think that Dick Sandlin might also have a pretty cool sense of humor. When asked what he would do with his winnings, he replied that he would buy an RC Cola and a Moon Pie. For those that don't know, a Moon Pie is the official cybersnack of the 21st century and the RC in RC cola stands for 'Royal Crown.' Mmm, cybersnacks! What a joker.
When they won the lottery in March of 2007, Dick and Colleen Sandlin had been married for fifty years. They had two daughters and two grandchildren.
