Don't you just wish that one day in your life you would get a standing ovation? Most people will never get one, but Donald Hand did. He got a standing ovation for winning the lottery.
Donald Hand, the Arizona native, was standing in line at the store getting his Powerball tickets checked. He won something and the clerks behind the counter were trying to figure out he much he won. By this time, there were five people in line behind him. When they finally found out how much Donald won, they told him. $200,000. That's when everybody in line behind him cheered. OK, so it's not like they got out of their seats to cheer. They were already standing. Nevertheless, it was a standing ovation.
Donald Hand's wife was waiting for him outside in the car while he was checking his Powerball tickets. He went back to her, gave her the winning lottery ticket and told her it was an early anniversary present. She went into shock when she found out how much the ticket was worth.
