Hank Robinson - 81 Year Old Life Long Bachelor And The Problem With Old Lottery Winners

Hank Robinson

I love reading stories about lottery winners, especially what they plan to do with their money when they suddenly become rich. The problem is that when old people win the lottery, they're usually too stuck in their ways to really enjoy the new wealth. Take, Hank Robinson, for example. The 81-year old 'lifelong bachelor' won $9,237,779 in Colorado Lotto in July of 2007. After picking up his check, he said he just wanted to go to his sister's house to play some Scrabble. Fun fun fun!!!

Ok, that probably sounds rude. I'm actually happy for Hank Robinson. I just wish he would do something fun now that he's rich. It's just that when Hank won, he said that he really didn't need anything. He did plan to buy a new van, though. That's all.

When Hank Robinson won the lottery he was 81-years old and lived in Lakewood, Colorado. He was retired after a career at Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad where he worked thirty-six years as a locomotive engineer. Besides that, he also owned a gift shop for twenty-five years.

Hank Robinson, actually, won the lottery after playing the exact same numbers for eighteen years. Congratulation to Hank on his good fortune.
