Kanji Onoda - Japanese Canadian Wins Lottery And Donates To JCBCF

Kanji Onoda - Japanese Lottery WinnerKanji Onoda is a good person. The Japanese-Canadian man won the lottery and plans to donate the the Japanese Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (JCBCF).

Now, Kanji Onoda didn't win much, relatively. He won $292,297 in Lotto 6/49. Sure, $292,297 is a lot of money. But, relatively speaking, it's not much compared to the huge multi-million dollar jackpots that people around the world win every week. Yet, Kanji still plans to donate to charity and many of those people that win the huge jackpots don't give to charity. That's why I say that Kanji is a good man. Of course, I'm sure that most people that win the lottery are good people too, but Kanji is good in a special way.

Actually, the Lotto 6/49 draw that Kanji Onoda won on was a massive jackpot. It was on the May 20, 2009 draw that Kanji matched 5-out-of-6 numbers plus the bonus to win $292,297. The Jackpot for that draw actually exceeded $49 million and was won by a group of lucky 13 people from Edmonton, Alberta. So, Kanji was that close to winning the big one!

At the time of his win, the Japanese immigrant was living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He said he was very surprised and happy when he found out that he won after checking his ticket at the self-serve ticket checker. Aside from donating to JCBCF, he said that he also planned to use the money for a trip to Japan.

Congratulations to Kanji Onoda on his nice win!
