Nicky Cusack is a breast cancer patient. Her cancer is in remission, but she's still completing the last bit of her chemotherapy. Actually, her bad luck started at the beginning of 2009. In January of 2009, the single mom was savagely attacked by a group of six dogs while trying to protect her children. Two months later she was diagnosed with breast cancer and that's when the grueling chemo treatments began.
Talk about a bad year. Or is it? What could make up for such a bad first half of 2009? The answer is... a lottery win! Nicky Cusack won £2.49 million ($3,997,718 USD) in UK's National Lottery in July of 2009 with a Lucky Dip ticket (A Lucky Dip is akin to a Quickpick where the lottery terminal randomly chooses a set of numbers).
Of course, there's no price-tag you could put on a person's health. Without health, you wouldn't be able to enjoy your money. But Nicky Cusack will get better and she will enjoy her money.
Actually, Nicky Cusack can't even wait to return to work. She said that ever since she became sick that the only thing she wanted was to get better and get back to work. She works at Walmart and the lottery win won't change that.
