That's Joe Claffy in the picture hugging Teresa Kraft. He must really love her, but I'm sure Joe's wife, Sue, doesn't mind - That's because Teresa sold Joe a winning Mega Millions lottery ticket worth $19 million.
In May of 2009, Joe and Sue Claffy just paid for their groceries at Martin's Food Market in Front Royal, Virginia. Included in that purchase were a few Virginia Lottery tickets. They were ready to leave, when the cashier, Teresa Kraft, asked, "Would you like to play Mega Millions?" That's when Joe Claffy decided to go for it; he bought $6 worth. One of those tickets ended up winning $19 million. He won because of a simple question from Teresa. So, you see, he must really love her. I'm sure Sue Claffy loves her to; they're rich because of her!
At the time of their win, Joe and Sue Claffy lived in Flint Hill in Rappahannock County, Virginia. The two both retired in 1999. Joe was a construction worker and Sue had a career in law enforcement. They said they would use the winnings to take care of family, make a few purchases, and do some investing. I hope they also give Teresa Kraft a nice gift.
