If you won $250,000 in the lotto, would you be happy? I know I would be. But what if you won $250,000, but were just one number away from winning a $133 million jackpot instead? Would you still be happy? Sure, the $250,000 would be great, but I just don't know how I would feel, being so close to hitting the big one.
It happened to Wilberto Pastrana, a NY plumber. He won $250,000, the second prize in the July 7, 2009 Mega Millions drawing. Winning the second prize in Mega Millions is nothing to scoff at. The odds are almost 1-in-4-million. But still, being one number away from $133 million sucks.
Nevertheless, William Pastrana was shocked when he found out how much money he won. He checked the ticket at the same sore that he bought it at, a 7-11 gas station.
At the time of his win, Wilberto Pastrana lived in Kings Park, Suffolk County, NY. He made a living working as a plumber.
Congratulations to Wilberto on his lucky win!
