Don't Tell Anyone Yakima Resident Curtis Eldred Won The Lottery

Curtis EldredCurtis Eldred is a man that lives in Yakima, Washington, about 100 miles from Seattle. He's got a secret - He won the lottery. $3.4 million. But, shhh, don't tell anyone!

In May of 2009, someone in the town of Yakima, Washington won the lottery. Big news like that spreads fast in small towns and everybody was wondering who the winner was. Nobody knew. Except for Curtis Eldred. He knew. Because it was him. He won. but he kept it a secret for three months. He finally came out of the closet in August and claimed his prize.

I know if I won the lottery, I'd be at the prize claim center at 9am sharp the next morning, let alone wait three months. But I guess everybody's different. Curtis waited three months for a reason. He wanted to prepare for life as a millionaire. He wanted to chart his course prior to making it known that he was the big winner. He wanted a solid plan of action.

Now that Curtis Eldred has his money, his plan of action includes caring for his elderly mother, paying off his car (Hyundai), donate to charity, invest, and retire from his job as a cook as a prep cook at Heritage Inn Restaurant in Toppenish, Washington. It took him three months to figure that out. It would've taken me just three minutes!
