It happened to Jonathan Vargas. He was 19-years-old when he won the Powerball jackpot in May of 2008. Jonathan won $35.3 million!
Scary! Exciting! Shocking! Those were the emotions that Jonathan Vargas described as feeling. He said that he needed his mother to pinch him so that he realizes the lottery win was real.
What did Jonathan Vargas say he would do with the money? First off, he said that he wanted to honor his mother by buying her a new house. He also said that he would invest the money because he had a family to protect and wanted to invest in their futures. Sounds like a great guy! He also said the he plans to go to college to study finance.
At the time of his win, Jonathan Vargas lived in Gaston, South Carolina and worked as a construction worker.
