Willie Simmons - Great Grandfather Uses Birthday Numbers To Win Fantasy 5 Lottery

Willie Simmons - Great GrandfatherMany Lottery pundits will often tell you not to use birthdays when choosing lottery numbers. The reason for that is that many people use birthday numbers, meaning that the numbers 1 through to 31 are over represented. That will cause most lottery wins to be split among many people if the numbers come up. So, they say it's better to use higher numbers so that if the numbers show up you're more likely to have the sole winning ticket.

Perhaps someone forgot to tell Willie Simmons. Willie is a great-grandfather that lives in Phenix City, Alabama that played Georgia Lottery's Fantasy 5 game using birthday numbers. Thank goodness for birthday numbers!

Willie Simmons won $139,519 in the February 21, 2009 Fantasy 5 draw.

The money should come in handy for Willie because he has a HUGE family; he has five kids, thirty grand-kids, and some great-grand-kids. He said it "feels good" to win the lottery. We agree.

Timothy B. Elliott Gets To Kepp His Lottery Win Despite Parole Conditions Not To Play Lottery

Timothy B. Elliott - Lottery Winner On ProbationLike most people, Timothy B. Elliott loves money; so much so that in January, 2006, he robbed a bank in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. But he was caught and pleaded guilty to a charge of unarmed robbery.

Timothy was placed on five years probation. Part of the probation terms was that he was forbidden to gamble or play the lottery. But, Timothy loved money so much that he just had to play the lottery. And, the man that loves money actually won! $1 million!

But not so fast... if his parole conditions didn't allow him to play the lottery, would he be able to keep his winnings? That would be for a judge to decide. In December of 2007, he had a court hearing to decide whether he would be allowed to keep the money that he won.

Barnstable Superior Court Judge Richard Connon decided that Timothy B. Elliot's $10 purchase of a lottery ticket was minor and that there was no basis for taking back the prize.

Timothy, the bank robber, was able to break his parole conditions, buy a lottery ticket, and win a lot of money. Lucky bank robber!

Lottery Winner Gilbert Lussier From Vermont Likes To Give Money Away For Free (Video)

Gilbert Lussier - Rich Man From VermontGilbert Lussier is a rich man from St Albans, Vermont. You'd be lucky if you knew him. That's because he likes to give money away for free. Gilbert has given money to a lot of people since he won $4,475,000 on December 9, 2006. However he has slowed down, so you probably shouldn't look up his phone number to call and beg.

When Gilbert Lussier won the lottery, he paid off the mortgage on his house, then bought another one. He also purchased a new RV and threw a big party with lots of alcohol and booze. He sure knows how to party!

Funny thing, though. With all that money, Gilbert still brings his empty bottles in for refunds. I guess those few coins are still worth the trip.

See Gilbert Lussier in the video below:

Raju Patil Is A Crorepati In Mumbai City - No Longer Just A Common Man

Raju Patil - CrorepatiRaju Patil can now walk the streets of Mumbai, India as a Crorepati; he is no longer just a common man. That's because he won 53,700,000 ($1,041,707 USD) Indian Rupees in Thursday Super Lotto! But he will never forgot what it was like to be just another common man. Prior to winning the lottery, Raju was the sole breadwinner of a family of eight - six adults and two children; he was a chauffeur of an executive at a multi-national corporation.

Raju Patil usually uses astrology and mathematical calculations to choose his lottery numbers. But on the occasion that he won, he actually used a quick pick random set of numbers. Lucky guy!

A "crorepati" is a term used in India to refer to someone who is worth more than 1 crore (10 million Indian Rupees); it is the Indian equivalent of a millionaire in, say, North America.

Raju Patil isn't the first Indian crorepati that we've covered here. Also check out Sanjay Arora, Tahir Mullick, and Pannalal Ananda Sonawane; they've all won the lottery in India.

George Gentile - The Most Deserving Person Wins The Lottery

George Gentile - New York Poker Instant LottoIn March of 2009, George Gentile won $1 million playing New York Lotto's instant Poker scratch lottery game. As his daughter put it, "This could not happen to a more deserving person." He definitely deserves it! George Gentile is father to eleven children: 9 daughters and two sons. It must have cost a fortune to raise them. Now he gets some money for himself. Way to go!

At the time of the win, George was 81 years old and a retired factory foreman and a Korean war vet. He lived in Middletown in Orange County, New York. Prior to his win, there were two other big winners in Orange in the previous few weeks. He only purchased his ticket because a friend of his daughter's, Edward Cruz, scratched a winning $1 million instant Poker ticket while at her house. How ironic!

Local news and media doesn't often report on instant lotto winners, probably because it's more interesting to report on the humungous winners like Eric Kyle and Paul Rosenau. But there are plenty of them like Mike McGivern, Dwayne Pierce, Colonel Barnard, Hieu Tran, and Teresa Blevins.

Piggly Wiggly Retailer Gets Bonus For Selling Winning Powerball Ticket To Lorie Judice

Lorie Judice - Piggly WiglyOne of the good things about being a lottery retailer is that you get commissions when a winning ticket is sold by you. So, not only do you get a percentage of sales, you could also get a nice bonus! Sure, percentage of sales is not very high (anywhere from 1% to 10%), but you also don't have to carry inventory. A big winner can get you, as a retailer a nice bonus.

Lorie Judice, from Rayne, Louisiana won $200,000 in Powerball from Louisiana Lottery in March of 2006. She bought the ticket from Piggly Wiggly store on Adams Avenua in Rayne, Louisiana. The retailer received a $2,000 bonus for selling that winning ticket. $2000 just for printing a ticket! Now, that's a nice profit margin! If Lorie Judice would have won more (Or any customer for that matter), Piggly Wiggly would have had an even higher commission.

Perhaps playing the lottery isn't the way to go. Maybe, selling lottery tickets is better. The odds are better that you will sell a winning lottery ticket than they are that you will buy a winning lottery ticket. Sure, the payout is a lot smaller. But winning something is better than winning nothing, right?

Congratulations to both Lorie Judice and Piggly Wiggly on their lucky win!

Dan Tobe Smith Jr Wins $1000 A Week For Life In Weekly Grand Scratch Lottery Game

Dan Tobe Smith Jr - Weekly Grand WinnerImagine making $1000 a week more than you make now. That would be like getting an additional paycheck every week. It would be like two pays for one person (that's if you actually work). A second paycheck would be amazing. I know what Dan Tobe Smith Jr would do. That's because he won $1000 a week for the next twenty years from Texas Lottery. Dan won it on an instant scratch lottery game called "Weekly Grand." "Weekly Grand" is a scratch lotto game from Texas Lottery that costs $2 to play. There are for top prizes of $1000/week and 33,361,750 were printed. Kelly Lafo - Fabulous FortuneKelly Lafo is a woman from Naugatuck, Connecticut who received a fabulous fortune in March of 2007. That's because she won $200,000 on CT Lottery's Fabulous Fortune instant scratch lotto game!

Prior to purchasing the winning ticket, Kelly had a $25 winner on another instant scratch lotto game. She went to go cash it in, but the store she stopped at was closed. So she went to the next store and cashed it in there. With the money, she bought two other instant scratch games, one of which was the winning Fabulous Fortune game. It's a good thing that first store was closed, wasn't it?

So, what did Kelly Lafo plan to do with her money when she won? She wasn't quite sure. However, she did know that she didn't have to worry about money for the time being.

Congratulations to Kelly on her nice win!
