Ric Wallace The Lottery Squirrel Sells Good Luck Charms And Wins Hospital Lotto

Rick Wallace - Lottery SquirrelThat's Ric Wallace in the photo with his wife, Sheila Tofflemire, standing in front of a dream house that he won in in a London, Ontario charitable lottery in support of a local hospital. He looks happy, doesn't he? Well, of course he is. That's because, since he won the lotto drawing for the dream house, he claims to have also won more than $790,000 worth of lottery prizes. How does he do it? He has good luck lottery charms.

Actually, in the charity lottery, Ric's prizes totaled $775,000. This included the dream house, a car, and cash. Wouldn't you like to be so lucky? Well, you can. If you believe that Ric's good luck charm won him all the lottery prizes, you could get that good luck charm yourself. Ric's blog tells you all about how you, too, can get that lucky charm. The lucky charm is actually a coin with a squirrel on it. Why a squirrel? Aside from the fact that they are cute animals, they are associated with gathering and accumulating. And, wouldn't you like to accumulate some money?

Wallace also believes in psychics and tarot cards (We've previously covered a lottery psychic). One sign that foretells a lot of money in your future is an itchy left palm. If your left palm itches, you could probably expect a lottery win in the near future (You can't rub your palm with a feather, though, because that would be cheating). And, guess what? Ric's left palm was itchy prior to his dream home lottery win. Ric also believes in the power of positive thinking and claims that he's a money magnet. You can't argue with a guy that claims to be a money magnet and then goes on to win the lottery!

Janet Alnwick Wants A Grey Fully Loaded Corvette Convertible After Lottery Win

Janet Alnwick - Corvette Convertible OwnerNow that she's $22 million richer, Janet Alnwick wants some very nice things, namely a Grey, fully loaded Corvette convertible to drive around town with the top down and, also, many more vacations, namely trips to Aruba and Sanibel Island (An island just off the west coast of Florida). Janet really knows how to enjoy her money!

Janet Alnwick won $22 million in the January 13, 2009 Mega Millions draw. The funny thing was that she only spent $2-$3month on the lottery and never ever expected to win. That just goes to show, you don't need to play hundreds of dollars a month worth to win; you just need some luck on your side and I'm sure Janet knows all about luck, especially since the odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 1-in-175 million.

At the time of her win, Janet Alnwick was 52 years old and living in Merrick, New York. She was a caretaker and, prior to that, made her living as a salesperson. Maybe she'll retire now that she's so rich.

Oh, and back to Janet knowing how to enjoy her money... After she claimed her winnings she spent the night enjoying Manhattan with her mother and brother. They stayed at The Marriott Marquis, lived it up with room service, and caught a Broadway show; they watched Jersey Boys.

Myrna Shearer - $30 million Powerball Winner From York Pennsylvania

Myrna Shearer - York PennsylvaniaMyrna Shearer always knew that she would win the lottery. That's why she spent about $40 every week playing and she had been doing that for three years. She even had her numbers that she played every week.

Persistence has paid off for Myrna Shearer. In October of 2008, she finally won the Powerball jackpot. $30 million! She daid it was her destiny. The funny thing was that Myrna didn't even play her usual numbers. That's because she forgot them at home. So, she had to get quickpicks. It's a good thing that she forgot her numbers!

Even though Myrna Shearer said that she expected to win, when she first found out, she was shocked. She was barely able to breath and when she told her husband, they both started crying. They were rich!

Myrna Shearer and her husband, Tom, said that they had no immediate plans for the money. The couple, from York, Pennsylvania, own Piazza Romana Bar and Lounge in Manchester Township. They said that they plan to keep working and keep the bar open.

Carole Dakin - Psychic Wins Lottery - Finally!!!

Carole Dakin - Psychic Wins LotteryA psychic has won the lottery! Finally! You'd think that all psychics would be lottery winners... you know, because they can see the future. Actually, that's just some sarcasm. I think psychics are quacks. But with so many people claiming to be psychics, one of them is bound to win the lottery eventually.

Carole Dakin is a psychic and a tarot card reader. And, she won the lottery! Carole won £772,906 ($1,233,950 USD) in March of 2007. She actually dreamed that she won the lottery a few nights prior to the draw. She bought a ticket but then stashed it away because she got sick. She totally forgot about it until she read in the newspaper that there was an unclaimed ticket in Stockton (She lives in Stockton, England). She recognized the numbers and then had to find the ticket. She didn't remember where she had put it and ended up ransacking her house trying to find it. It was found under her bed.

When she won, Carole Dakin said that she didn't plan to live extravagantly. She didn't want to be flashy as that was not her type of personality. She did, however, buy a new Peugeot and wanted to buy a bigger house so that her two children can each have a room of their own. One thing that Carole always loved to do, though, was buy stuff on eBay. She now plans to spend a lot more time on the website.

Congratulations to Carole Dakin and her psychic abilities!

Terry Redel Wins Super Kansas Cash Lottery On 1st Wedding Anniversary

Terry Redel - Super Kansas CashTerry Redel celebrated his 1st wedding anniversary with his wife, Tanya, in May of 2009. But, that's not the only reason he's celebrated. That's because a few days after the wedding anniversary, Terry also won the lottery; he won the Super Kansas Cash lottery jackpot of $533,644. That really made for an awesome anniversary.

Tanya Redel says that she used to nag Terry to stop buying lottery tickets. I guess she considered it a waste of money. But now, she says that he can keep on playing... as long as he keeps on winning!

Actually, Tanya didn't even believe Terry when he called her at work to tell her that he won the lottery. Terry was known to try to fool Tanya in the past with fake lottery tickets. She made Terry drive to her father's house so that her father can verify the ticket. When her father had a look and called Tanya to say it's real, that's when she finally believed it.

Super Kansas Cash costs $1 to play and players must choose 5 numbers between 1 and 32, and 1 extra number between 1 and 25. Player must match all numbers to win the jackpot. The odds of winning the jackpot in Super Kansas Cash are 1-in-2.5 million.

Congratulations to Terry and Tanya Redel, of Junction City, Kansas, on both their wedding anniversary and lucky lotto win!

Shirley Caldwell Wins Cash Game Lottery And Almost Threw Up

Shirley Caldwell - Cash GameShirley Caldwell said she almost threw up when she realized how much money she won. That's because she won $100,000 playing Iowa Lottery's Cash Game.

In March of 2009, Shirley Caldwell went to the store to check her lottery ticket. She gave it to the clerk. He checked it and said she won $1000. Then, he realized it was a mistake and said it was really a $10,000. Then, he must have realized that he can't count because she won a lot more. Shirley won $100,000!!! Shirley then drove home and she didn't even wrap her head around the amount of money that she won. It wasn't until she actually got home that she realized that she won so much. That's when, she says, that she almost thre up.

At the time of her win, Shirley Caldwell lived in La Porte City, Iowa. She said she will use the money to pay off bills and buy a car. She said that she needed a car, but that she couldn't afford to buy one. Well, now she can.

The Cash game costs $1 to play and runs 6 days a week. $100,000 is the top prize and players must match 6 out of 35 numbers to hit the jackpot. The odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 1-in-325,000.

Arnulfo Aserios Wins Guam National Olympic Committee's Sports Bingo lottery

Arnulfo Aserios - GuamIn May of 2009, Arnulfo Aserios was the first big winner of Guam National Olympic Committee's Sports Bingo lottery. He won $2 million.

The Guam National Olympic Committee's Sports Bingo lottery was created to help pay for the development of Guam's athletes and an estimated 25% of all of its funding comes from the lottery.

At the time of his win, Arnuflo Aserios was a 46-year-old living in Dededo, Guam. He was a poor man living in a crowded house. He is married with four children.

Arnulfo was extremely happy with the win, not for himself, but for his family. He wants to use the money to build a bigger house so that his kids don't have to share bedrooms anymore and is, now, confident that he will be able to provide for the proper education for them. As for his wife, Arnulfo Aserios says she will be receiving a few gifts. Arnulfo says he doesn't even need anything for himself. What a generous man!

Congratulations to Arnulfo Aserios on his lucky win!

649's Lucky 13 - Gabriel Tkaczuk Bevz Chrapko Podridske Tripp Eddington...

Lotto 649's Lucky 13 From Edmonton Remember that huge $49 million Lotto 649 jackpot on Wednesday May, 20, 2009? It was revealed that there was only one winning ticket sold and everybody was searching for the winner the next day. Well, the ticketholder for the draw was revealed and it was bought by a lucky group of 13 co-workers of ATB Financial, a bank in Edmonton, Alberta (Some of them are pictured here from the lottery press conference). The lucky 13 worked on the 13th floor in the Human Resources Department. Since the final jackpot reached $49,851,871, each of the thirteen received exactly $3,834,759.30.

The winners names are as follows:

1. Sara Gabriel
2. Irene Tkaczuk
3. Patricia Podridske
4. Tanya Bevz
5. Carmina Cruz
6. Elizabeth Eddington
7. Cheryl Chrapko
8. Everard Steadman
9. Laurie Brown
10. Abbas Mohamed
11. Nannet Coulter
12. Carol Tripp
13. Emma MacEachern

None of the thirteen say they plan to quit their current job at ATB Financial.

Sara Gabriel - Edmonto AlbertaThe lottery ticket purchase was really a last-minute purchase. Patricia Podridske sent an email to her co-workers after she found out that the Lotto 649 jackpot was estimated to be $49 million. She asked for $2 for anybody interested in buying into a group-play for the draw. The money rolled in and Patricia made the purchase. Actually, one of the group memebers, Sara Gabriel (Pictured here), said she wouldn't play. But then she changed her mind. She must be happy that she did, too, because the 24-year-old woman is engaged and the money should really come in handy!

Congratulations to all 13 of the lucky winners!

Michael Ferreira Is A Wild Money Winner From Rhode Island Lottery

Michael Ferreira - Wild MoneyMichael Ferreira won a $161,775 jackpot playing the Wild Money Lotto Game from Rhode Island Lottery. He purchased the winning ticket from Sam's Food Store in Warwick, RI.

A jackpot of $161,775 may not seem so great compared to other people that have won huge jackpots. But winning big jackpots isn't the selling point of a lotto game like Wild Money. With Wild Money, it is relatively easier to win, hence the lower jackpot amount. Actually it's a lot easier to win. Take Powerball, for example; in Powerball, the odds of winning the jackpot are 1-in-95-million. In Wild Money, players must match 5 out of 35 numbers, making the odds of winning just 1-in-325,000. A lottery player is a lot more likely to win playing Wild Money than she is playing Powerball and that's what draws people to the game. Winning a lot of money is great but, also, winning something is better than winning nothing.

Wild Money draws are held three times a week, every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday and it is a progressive lottery game, meaning that if nobody wins the jackpot, it rolls over and the jackpot gets bigger. The jackpot starts at $20,000 and grows from there. How does Michael Ferreira's win compare to other Wild Money Wins? Well, the biggest Wild Money jackpot was won on March 25th, 2006 and reached $315,869. So, Michael didn't do too bad.

Congratulations to Michael Ferreira on his nice win!

Jeri Buonincontra Buys His Fiancee The Wedding Of Her Dreams With Lottery Win

Jeri Buonincontra - Lottery WeddingJeri Buonincontra Won $2.3 million in CT Lottery's Classic Lotto Game. He doesn't have any immediate plans for the money except for one thing - He's engaged and he wants to buy his fiancee the wedding of her dreams. What a sweet guy! Actually he sounds like a nice guy. When he called his fiancee the morning after he found out that he won, he started to cry after he told her the news.

Actually, Jeri Buonincontra shouldn't have even won the lottery. See, all the numbers that he chose had some significance to him, except for one number. Jeri was supposed to pick number 7, but he ticked off number 8, accidentally. The numbers for the May 12, 2009 Classic Lotto draw that Jeri won on were 8 – 14 – 23 – 25 – 27 – 35. Had he taken number 7, he wouldn't have won the jackpot. I guess he's just a lucky guy.

At the time of his win, Jeri Buonincontra was 26 years old, living in Stratford, Connecticut, and worked as an airplane mechanic.

The winning ticket was purchased at Citgo Mart, on New Haven Avenue in Derby, Connecticut. The retailer that sold the winning ticket received a $10,000 bonus.

Beverly Palmer - Jamaican Lottery Winner Didn't Choose Her Numbers - They Chose Her

Beverly Palmer - Jamaican Lottery WinnerBeverly Palmer has one of our favorite quotes from a lottery winner ever. She said that she didn't choose her lottery numbers; they chose her. That's because Beverly bought a quick pick lottery ticket, meaning the computer chose a random set of numbers for her. And, those numbers won her $25 million in June of 2008!

Beverly Palmer is a Jamaican-born Canadian woman living in Toronto, Ontario. She immigrated from Jamaica 39 years ago. She had had some tough luck just prior to her lottery win. A few months prior to her big win, the 59-year-old woman was laid off from her job at a technology company and it was really difficult for her to find another job. She was really concerned about her future and having a tough time, financially. Yet, every week she managed to find a few dollars to play the lottery. Now, she says she will worry no more. And, good for her!

The funny thing was that Beverly Palmer didn't even realize how much she had won. She checked her ticket at a lottery terminal scanner at the store, but couldn't really add up all the zeros. She figured she won $250,000. Then, when she got home, she phoned her brother. He checked the numbers and told her she won the jackpot. She still couldn't believe it. So, she spent the next few hours calling relatives and friends to verify the numbers. It took a lot of convincing for Beverly to realize that she was a big winner.

Beverly Palmer said that she will use the money to share with family, do some traveling, and go back to school. She said she wants to study finance.

*** Check out the complete list of black lottery winners.

Kevin Smith - Bald 649 Lottery Winner From Winnipeg Manitoba

Kevin Smith - Bald 649 WinnerTake a look at our collage of lottery winners. I don't think we've ever covered a lottery winner that was bald (I mean, completely bald)... until today. I'm quite excited about this because I'm bald and have never won the lottery. So, I figured that the lotto discriminates against us baldies. But not so! Kevin Smith won the second prize in Lotto 6/49. Now I know that there's still hope for me.

Kevin Smith won $207,616, the second prize in Lotto 6/49. That means he matched 5 out of 6 numbers, plus the bonus number. The odds of winning the second prize is 1-in-2.3-million. So, Kevin was quite lucky!

At the time of his win, Kevin Smith was living in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada (If you don't know where that is, don't worry - You don't wanna know. It's way too cold there). One day he was meeting up with some friends for lunch, when he saw a lottery kiosk. That's when he realized that he had a Lotto 6/49 ticket to check. That's when he checked it at the kiosk scanner and realized that he won. All Kevin could say was that he was stunned when he found out he won. I hope Kevin got an extra steak for lunch, since he could now really afford it.

Congratulations to the bald man on his nice win!

Josefina Sineriz Of Bakersfield California Wins Big On Make Me A Millionaire Game Show

Josefina Sineriz - Make Me A MillionaireJosefina Sineriz is now $2.8 million richer. So, she will help out her brother and build him a house in the Philippines.

Josefina Sineriz won $2.8 million on California Lottery's Make Me A Millionaire TV game show in February of 2009. To get on the show, players must either purchase and win a spot on the show from the Make Me A Millionaire instant scratch lottery ticket or buy five Fanatasy 5 lottery tickets, which gets you a coupon to submit to a drawing to get on the show.

Josefina didn't even realize that she was entered into the drawing for the show. Her husband, George Thurman, actually entered her name when he bought his Fantasy 5 tickets. He didn't want to enter himself because he doesn't have luck with lotteries. But he figured that Josefina does. So, when lottery officials called her to participate in the show, she didn't even know what was going on. Luckily, her husband was there to guide her.

Fate brought Josefina Sineriz onto the Make Me A Millionaire TV game show and, now, she and her husband are unbelievably rich. Congratulations to the couple on their lucky win!

Rebecca Jemison - Wins Mega Millions Lottery Even After Elecia Battle Claims It Was Her Lost Ticket

Rebecca JemisonIf you are lucky enough to win a lottery jackpot, you shouldn't have to waste your time with quacks claiming your winnings should be theirs.

It happened to Rebecca Jemison. She won $162 million in a Mega Millions lottery jackpot in January of 2004. But prior to her actually claiming the prize, another woman by the name of Elecia Battle filed a police report, claiming that she had the winning ticket and that she lost it. That prompted a search outside of a convenience store on a cold, snowy January day in Ohio. No lost ticket was found.

There was a reason that the lost ticket was not found - Elecia Battle made up the story. That's fraud, an offense punishable by 1-to-6-months in jail and a $1000 fine. After initially filing a lawsuit to try to prevent Rebecca Jamison from collecting the winnings, Elecia cracked under the pressure and admitted to lying. She also added, "I'm not a bad person, I'm really not." Ya, OK Elecia.

But the good news is that Rebecca Jemison was able to collect her Mega Millions jackpot of $162 million and is now rich beyond her wildest dreams. I'm sure she's somewhere living the good life right now while Elecia Battle is somewhere crying all over her food stamps.

Tim Boothroyd Wins Lottery - Buys New Lotto Ticket On Way Home From Prize Office

Tim Boothroyd - Lotto TicketYou know what Tim Boothroyd did after he won the lottery and picked up his prize check from BC Lottery Corporation's prize office? He bought a new lottery ticket on his way home.

Tim Boothroyd, a 50-year-old man from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, won $675,000 from BCLC's Set For Life scratch lotto ticket in April of 2009. Set For Life offers a top prize of $1000 a week for 25 years. Winners have the option of taking a $675,000 lump sum payment, tax-free (Lottery winnings in Canada are not taxable). Tim took the lump-sum payment. Tim told lottery officials that he likes the games so much that he'd probably buy another ticket on his way home.

As to how he would spend the money, Tim Boothroyd said that he hadn't really thought about it and that the big win really hadn't sunk in yet. So, he didn't know how he would spend it. But he said he will spend it wisely. Until he figures it out, he'll probably be sipping on a latte on the beach somewhere. We have a suggestion for Tim: Ditch the latte and drink a regular brewed coffee; brewed coffee is much better. He did say, however, that he will probably buy a nice car.

We've covered other Set For Life Winners before, including Margaret Marshall and Raymond Sidjak.

Congratulations to Tim Boothroyd on his lucky win!

Ethel McDowell Wins Iowa Lottery's Cash Game

Ethel McDowell - Cash GameCash Game. It's sounds like fun. We like cash and we like games. Put them together and you get Cash Game. That's a 5/35 lotto game from Iowa Lottery. It's simple, but we just like the way it sounds. And, Ethel McDowell won the jackpot in the Cash Game in March of 2009.

Ethel McDowell won the Cash Game jackpot of $100,000. Cash Game costs $1 to play and runs every day, Monday through to Wednesday. To win the jackpot, players must match all five out of thirty-five numbers. The odds of getting all five numbers are 1-in-325,000.

During the March 25th drawing, Ethel's son suggested that she might have all the numbers. So she double-checked her tickets and, sure enough, she did! Ethel said that her husband was very excited, but she didn't say anything about how she felt. Oh well, maybe winning large sums of money just isn't that interesting to her? She did say that their was several things she'd like to do with the money, but she didn't elaborate.

At the time of her win, Ethel McDowell was 77 years old and living in Mount Pleasant, Iowa with her husband, Bruce. The couple were retired and had six children.

Congratulations to both Ethel and Bruce on their lucky lottery win!

Isabel Zelaya - El Salvador Immigrant Is Friday The 13th Lottery Winner WIth Mega Millions

Isabel Zelaya - Friday The 13th Lottery WinnerSuperstition tells us that Friday the 13th is bad luck day. But it wasn't for Isabel Zelaya. On Friday March the 13th of 2009, Isabel Zelaya won a Mega Millions jackpot of $26 million. The funny thing is that his friends actually urged him not to play the lottery that day. That'll show them!

At the time of his win, Isabel Zelaya was 45 years old and living in Wyandanch, Suffolk County, which is close to New York City, NY. He immigrated to The United States of America from El Salvador twenty-six years ago. He had been making a living working in restaurants and doing factory work and was working the night shift at a company called Coral Graphics Services.

The factory work must have gotten to him, like it does for so many people. That's why he started playing the lottery. He'd only been playing the lottery for a year. He wanted to win a jackpot and start his own business so that he could be his own boss, possibly opening up a restaurant. Well, his dream has come true. Heck, he could retire if he wants.

Isabel Zelaya bought his winning ticket at P & T Supermarket; it was a Quick Pick. The owner of the supermarket, Segundo Peralta, received a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Southmont Form and Finish Owner Mick Hubner Of Ellis Montana Won $100,000

Mick Hubner - Southmount Form And FinishMick Hubner is from Ennis, Montana, United States and owns a successful business that does concrete work called Southmont Form and Finish. The company had a good year in 2008, but in December they finished their last job of the season. I guess work was to slow down in the new year, so it was a good time to win the lottery. And, Mick did!

Mick Hubner won $100,000 in Montana Lottery's Montana Millionaire draw on January 2, 2009. Montana Millionaire is a once-a-year lottery draw from Montana Lottery; it offered one grand prize of $1 million, 5 prizes of $100,000, of which Verlin Little Light won one, and 5 prizes of $10,000. There were also other smaller prizes. We've covered other winners from that draw, including Mike McGivern, the $1 million jackpot winner, and Verlin Little, another $100,000 winner.

Mick is pictured here with his wife, Suzanne. They were actually in Las Vegas, Nevada on the day of the Montana Millionaire draw on January 2nd, 2009. But the funny thing was, the lottery ticket had the numbers 041577 and their boarding pass had all of the same numbers. It must've been a sign! Either way, they are quite lucky.

Mick and Suzanne Hubner said they plan on investing the lottery win for the future. But we think they'll at least do just a little more gambling with it. Congratulations to the couple on their nice win!

Bizarre - Iorworth Hoare - Rapist Wins Lottery - Loves Golddigger Girldriend

Iorworth Hoare - RapistThis is one of the most bizarre stories of lottery winners that we've ever covered. It is the story of Iorworth Hoare. Iorworth is a convicted rapist. He was sentenced to life in jail in 1989 by Leeds Crown Court in England. His rap sheet includes rape, three attempted rapes (including a 60-year-old woman in the park), and two indecent assaults. He's a pretty bad guy. And, as fate would have it, something wonderful happened to this bad man - he won the lottery.

In August of 2004, Iorworth Hoare was on temporary release from jail, played the lottery, and won. Iorworth won £7 million ($10,609,477 USD) playing Lotto Extra in England.

Normally, prisoners on temporary release are allowed to play the lottery and keep their winnings. But, Iorworth Hoare was only permitted to get £8,666 a month as part of his conditions of release. He would only be allowed to get the full amount with consent from three trustees: his lawyer, his accountant, and a Home Office official. In late 2008, Iorworth was in the process of taking his case to the European Court claiming the restrictions to the lottery money that he won was contrary to the Human Rights Act. Iorworth Hoare wants to take his money and move to France.

Karen Cameron WIth Iorworth HoarePretty bizarre story so far, isn't it? It gets even more bizarre. You would think a disgusting man like Iorworth Hoare, a man that tried to rape a 60-year-old woman, wouldn't ever be able to find a girlfriend, would you? Well, money changes everything because he managed to find a golddigger... I mean a girlfriend. Her name is Karen Cameron and she is pictured here with Iorworth ing in a grocery store. Karen, a divorced mother of two, claims that she loves him and he loves her. She says that Iorworth is a total gentleman. When was the last time you heard a rapist referred to as a total gentleman? Oh well, maybe he really is. Maybe their relationship really is about love and not about the money. We will never really know.

Lottery Winner Max Matthews Got Winning Ticket As Birthday Present From Son Patrick

Max Matthews - Birthday PresentYou've probably received lottery tickets as birthday presents in the past. Maybe you've won $5 or $10. But could you imagine getting a lottery ticket as a birthday present and winning $1 million? Max Matthews probably never imagined such a thing, but he won!

Max Matthews received a Monopoly instant scratch lotto ticket from his son, Patrick. When Max scratched the ticket, he called his son and said, "Come home, I won a million dollars." And, Patrick was thinking to himself, "Yeah, right, nobody around here wins a million dollars." But it was true and Max said he will take care of his son's debts.

Max Matthews lives in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Newfoundland, Canada with his wife, Lillian. The first thing that Lillian told Max was that they could now re-do their bathroom. Max was like, "Ya right." He had different plans; he wants a new house - one with an exercise room and sauna in the basement. Nice!

Here's a video of Max validating his winning ticket at the store (shot on a cell phone camera):

Tommy Cash Of White Marsh Maryland Wins Lots Of Blazin Hot Bucks

Tommy Cash - Blazin Hot BucksHe is from White Marsh, Maryland and he has a name fit for a rich man; his name is Tommy Cash and he just won lots of it. Tommy Cash won lots of cash playing Maryland Lottery's Blazin' Hot Bucks instant scratch lottery game in April of 2009. From here on out, we will refer to him as the Cash Man.

The Cash Man is a postal worker and was driving home from work one day and something mystical told him to take a different route home, one he had never taken before. While on his trek on that different route, the Cash Man saw a Maryland Lottery billboard; it must've been a sign. So, he stopped to buy a few tickets and then he heard a voice telling him to try something new (Note: schizophrenics hear this voice all the time, but they never win the lottery). So, he tried something new - He bought a Blazin' Hot Bucks instant scratch ticket and, whadaya know, he won. The Cash Man won Blazin' Hot Bucks' top prize of $100,000. Not bad for a $10 ticket!

So, what will the Cash Man do with all of that newfound cash? Well, the man has never been on a real vacation in his entire life and he is due for one. When he won, he said that he'll probably grab his nephews and nieces and do something fun, like a vacation to Disney World.

Congratulations to a cool Cash Man on his lucky lottery win!

Lotto Super 7 Winner - OPP Constable Ian Gibson To Splurge On A New Honda Pilot

Ian Gibson - Lotto Super 7 WinnerIan Gibson had some bad news to tell his wife. They would not be able to do a happy dance because he didn't win the 649 lottery (The happy dance is a gimmick from OLG's Lotto 649 happy dance commercial in Ontario, Canada). But they did win Lotto Super 7. Damn, that must suck!

Ian Gibson sounds like a joker and he must have every reason to be happy because he won $5 million from Lotto Super 7 in April of 2009.

At the time of his win, Ian was living in Portland, Ontario, Canada with his wife of 40 years. Ian, and his wife, Lynda, also have two adult daughters. Ian is a retired OPP Constable (Ontario Provincial Police). Since his retirement from the police service twelve years ago, he had been driving a school bus. He now plans to retire from that too.

$5 million is a lot of money, but the only immediate purchase that Ian Gibson had in mind was a new Honda Pilot for his wife.

Congratulations to the couple on their lottery win!

Lucky South Charleston WV Woman Brenda Bailey Wins Lottery 5 Times

Brenda Bailey - 5 Time Lottery WinnerFor all you poor saps that dream of winning the lottery, check this out - Brenda Bailey won the lottery 5 times... in an eight month period.

Brenda Bailey is lucky. Her luck started in September of 2008 when she decided to purchase a Deal Or No Deal instant scratch lottery ticket in a store in South Charles, WV, USA. See, she doesn't even play the lottery; she just happened to see that ticket and it looked interesting. So, she bought it... and won! $10,000! Not bad for a woman that doesn't even play the lottery.

That win must have piqued her interest in the lotto because she bought more. In January of 2009 she bought another ticket and won $1000. In March, she won another $1000. Then a few days after her $1000 March win, she won $50,000.

Then in May of 2009, she was at the Dunbar Go-Mart and watched while another woman purchased 13 Price Is Right instant scratch lotto tickets. They were all duds. So, Brenda Bailey decided to buy one. And, guess what? Yep, she won. This time, Brenda won $100,000!

The luckiest woman in America won five lotteries in an eight month period, ranging from September of 2008 to May of 2009. Her grand total from all of the wins combined? $167,000!!!

The moral of the story? Don't buy any lottery tickets in West Virgina; Brenda Bailey has already bought all the winning tickets.

UPDATE: JULY, 2009: Brenda won again - $7,000 in the Gem 7s instant game. Nice!

House Cleaner Geraldine Williams - Oh God Let It Be - The Woman Will Never Have To Clean Again

Geraldine Williams - Massachusetts Mega Millions WinnerOne day in July of 2004, retired custodian turned house cleaner Geraldine Williams, bought a Mega Millians lottery ticket. While she stared at her Television screen and watched the lottery results she saw that she had every single number. She screamed out, "Oh God, oh God, let it be, let it be!" The energetic woman won a HUGE HUGE jackpot, the second largest ever, up to that point in 2004.

Geraldine Williams won $294 million!!!

When Geraldine won, she was 68 years old and a retired custodian at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. After retiring, she cleaned houses. Now, she will never have to clean a house unless, of course, she wants to. You never know, maybe she likes to clean. Her neighbors described her as energetic and caring; she would often pick up trash in the neighborhood and help the elderly.

Geraldine Williams had three children and, when she won, she planned to share the money with them. As well, she planned to give money to charities and do some traveling.

Congratulations to a well-deserving woman on her lottery win.

Maxlotto Winner Lakhwinder Singh Was The Biggest Punjab Lottery Winner Ever

Lakhwinder Singh - Maxlotto WinnerA $400,000 lottery winner in North America wouldn't even make the news, what with people winning hundred million dollar jackpots in games like Mega Millions and Powerball. But it's big news in other parts of the world.

Take Maxlotto winner, Lakhwinder Singh. In June of 2004, he became the biggest Punjab lottery winner ever. He won 20 million Indian Rupees. That translates to $405,877 USD. That's a nice win, and I'm sure anybody would be happy with that. But in India, it was huge. In 2004, it was considered a rare and historic moment in India's lottery history.

Lakhwinder Singh bought his winning Maxlotto ticket at Ahuja Gift House, in Kotkapura, District Faridkot and Punjab. He never dreamed he could win so much money, but he did believe that he had a chance. When he checked his numbers and found out that he did win, he was ecstatic!

Joseph Russo Of Lebanon Connecticut Wins Powerball Powerplay Lottery

Joseph Russo - Powerball Powerplay$1 million is better than $200,000, right? Of course it is, just ask Joseph Russo. Joseph Russo won $1 million in Powerball lottery in August of 2006. Joseph matched 5 numbers on Powerball. Normally, this would give him a win of $200,000. Joseph played Powerplay, which allowed him to increase the $200,000 win to $1 million. He sure must be glad he spent that extra $1.

At the time of his win in 2006, Joseph Russo was a resident of Lebanon, Connecticut, USA. He is pictured here with his wife, Margaret.

Andrew Tingle Wants To Go Backpacking In Thailand After Winning 216567 British Pounds In Lottery

Andrew Tingle With Girlfriend IngridAndrew Tingle went backpacking in Thailand last year. The British accountant wants to do it again. And, he can. That's because he won the National Lottery in The U.K. in February of 2009. £216,567 ($326,389 USD). In fact, he could also go to Las Vegas and Hawaii. He's actually planning all three trips. This accountant sure knows how to live the good life and the money will really help him in that regard.

Andrew Tingle is pictured with his girlfriend, Ingrid. They'd been a couple for a year prior to Andrew winning the lottery. The British couple will surely have a much funner future, what with all the new money and upcoming trips.

The first things that Andrew Tingle planned to do with the money was to pay off his mortgage and other debts, take his parents out to dinner to celebrate, and, of course, the trips.Ingrid insists the money won't change Andrew because he's got his feet firmly on the ground.

When Andrew won, he started to hear from old friends. They sent him messages via text and Facebook. That'll probably happen when you're all over the news.

Roberto Pulido Of Bayside Texas Tries To Claim Wild 10's Lotto Win On Mardi Gras

Roberto Pulido - Baytown TexasThat's Roberto Pulido in the picture. He is 37 years old and has a big family. He's standing with his wife, Gloria, his daughter, Michelle, and his three sons, George, Ivan, and Christian. It must take a lot of hard work and resources to raise such a big family. Luckily, he got some help from Louisiana Lottery Corporation. They paid Roberto $200,000. That's because he won their $200,000 top prize in the Wild 10's scratch-off lotto game.

Roberto Pulido lives in Bayside, Texas. But he won in Louisiana. He tried to go into Louisiana Lottery's headquarters on Mardi Gras to cash his winning ticket. But the office was closed for Mardi Gras. So, Roberto had to wait. And, waiting was hard. He said his heart was racing and he couldn't stand to wait another day to claim his money. But, oh well, it was a holiday and there was nothing he could do about that.

Wild 10's is a scratch-off game from Louisiana Lottery. It costs $10 to play and the odds of winning the grand prize of $200,000, which Roberto Pulido won, are 1-in-480,000. There are other prizes available, ranging from a free ticket to $10,000. There were 960,000 tickets printed, which means that, at the time of isuue, there were two grand-prize winning tickets.

Congratulations to Roberto Pulido and his family on winning the big money.

Regina Mandabach Was Out Of Breath When She Ran To Her Parents To Announce Her Powerball Win

Regina Mandabach - 2003 Powerball WinnerThe first thing that Regina Mandarach did when she found out that she won the Powerball jackpot in October of 2003 was run to her parents house to announce to them that she was a winner. And, run she did, because when she got there, all that she could say was, "I'm rich! I won the Powerball." We suggest she skip over to her parents' house next time she wins because she won't be so out of breath.

Regina Mandabach split a $191 million Powerball jackpot in October of 2003 with one other winner, meaning that her take was $95.5 million. Now we understand why she ran so fast!

Actually, Regina got her very own police escort to go claim her winnings. Daviess County Sheriff Jerry Harbstreit thought she could use some security since she was carrying a piece of paper worth millions.

At the time of her win in 2003, Regina was a 29 year old single mother and living in Washington, Indiana with her two children. She worked as a customer service rep for Hoosier Lottery.

Regina Mandabach said that she always planned to take care of her family if she had ever won the lottery. So, they're probably all well taken care of now since that was a massive jackpot that she won. When she won the lottery, Regina said that she did not know what she would do with her big windfall; she said that she would need some time to clear her mind before making those types of decisions.

Franciscus Planken Of Kanata Ontario Always Says Yes To Encore And He Won

Franciscus Planken - Kanata OntarioEncore is like dessert in Canadian lotteries. First off, you have to buy a lottery ticket like Lotto 649, Super 7, BC 49, Payday, Lottario, or Pick 3, and then you have the option to play an additional game, for $1 more, called Encore. The tag line in it's advertising is "Say yes to Encore."

Franciscus Planken always says "yes" to Encore and it paid off.

Franciscus Planken won the Encore grand prize of $1 million in April of 2009. Not a bad dessert, just for saying yes!

When Franciscus won, he was 53 years old and living in Kanata, Ontario, Canada. Kanata is located approximately 20 kilometers (That's about 12 miles) from Ottawa, the capital city of Canada. He said that he when he found out about the win, he couldn't believe it. He plans to invest the money.

Franciscus Planken wasn't the first Encore winner that we've covered. Karen Coaton was also a recent Encore winner. Congratulations to them both!
