Victoria Mason stocks beer at the Bourbon Street Bar & Grill. She also promised her boss that she would continue working, even if she won the lottery. Guess what boss? Victoria actually did win the lottery. And, she was back to work at Bourbon Street Bar & Grill the very next day after collecting her lottery prize!
Victoria Mason won $1 million in Kansas Lottery's Holiday Millionaire Raffle. Kansas Lottery announced her as the winner just moments before they closed their office on December 31st, 2009.
The Holiday Millionaire Raffle from Kansas Lottery was a special raffle draw. Tickets costed $20 and there were only 150,000 tickets printed. The top prize in the raffle was $1 million, which Victoria won. There were also five prizes of $50,000 and 500 prizes of $500. The odds of winning any prize in the raffle game were 1-in-296.44.
Victoria Mason was lucky, in that she barely ever buys lottery tickets. She only bought a Holiday Millionaire Raffle ticket because she overheard some people talking about it. She had an extra $20 on her, so she bought one.
Victoria said that 2009 was a very difficult year for her, financially. She said that she expected 2010 to be much better, now that she's won a million dollars. In fact, she didn't do anything on New Year's Eve of 2009 and now that she's rich, she expected New Year's Eve of 2010 to be much better! What an awesome start to the new year for Victoria Mason!
