I have a funny feeling that Aurelia really really really wanted to win the lottery. She wanted it so BAD! And, she wanted it so bad that she spent a lot of money on lottery tickets, and I mean A LOT!

Why do I think that Aurelia spent a lot of money on lottery tickets? Well, consider this - Florida Lottery tracks the winnings that they've paid out to people and they issued a statement saying that Aurelia has won $1000 on scratch-off tickets 40 separate times in the last nine years. She also has a $20,000 win under her belt. You don't win that many prizes by just luck; it's not statistically possible.

Aurelia Torres just won $1 million on a scratch-off game called Florida Millionaire's Club. Now, if you look at the odds for the game, it shows that the odds of winning a $1000 prize are 1-in-5000. To win $1000 40 times on just this game would take approximately 200,000 tickets. The game costs $20 to play. To buy 200,000 tickets would cost $4 million.

Of course, Aurelia must have bought many different games, at varying price levels, and at varying odds. She may have had some luck in choosing winning tickets, but luck isn't the biggest factor when you win big prizes more than 40 times. Yep, she spent a lot of money on tickets.

If you add up her 40 $1000 wins, her $20,000 win, and her most recent $1 million win, her total winnings add up to $1,060,000. Not bad, but I would guess that she spent more than that on the lottery over the years that she's been playing.
