Just under a year ago, Erik Holmes won $104,000 from Georgia Lottery. Today, Georgia Lottery announced him as the winner of another big prize; he won $500,000 on a scratch-off game called $7 Million Jackpot. $7 million, as you'd probably guess, is the top prize in the game. The $500,000 that Erik won is the second prize. The odds of winning the $500,000 second prize in the game are approximately 1-in-3.6-million. But those odds mean nothing to Erik... He just keeps winning and winning, no matter the odds!

Erik's total take in less than a year... $604,000. Nice!

Erik used the money from his first win to help out family and friends. He still plans to help people, as he'll be donating some money from his most recent win to charity. See, Erik Holmes works at Home Depot and giving back to the community is one of Home Depot's core values, so that's what he does. Good for him for wanting to give back to the community, but his reasons for doing so brings up a question... Who really internalizes the core values of the companies they work for? I mean, out of all the places I've worked, I may have known about some of the core values, but I didn't really care. I think a job's just a job and winning the lottery's just one way to get out of that job. But that's just me, though; I'm not trying to slight Erik's beliefs one bit.
